The May Film Tour is back for 2023 and will take place at locations nationally throughout the month of May to celebrate the annual Bealtaine Festival.
The May Film Tour is organised jointly by access>CINEMA and the Irish Film Institute to co-incide with the annual Bealtaine Festival, and features free screenings of films specially selected with older audiences in mind.
This year the Bealtaine Festival will be continuing to celebrate the theme of In(ter)dependence. With this theme in mind, the films chosen for the 2023 May Film Tour are Living and A Bunch of Amateurs.
The 2023 May Film Tour is presented with the support of Lionsgate Films UK and Met Film Distribution UK.
A BUNCH OF AMATEURS
Members of a working-class amateur filmmaking club, ‘BRADFORD MOVIE MAKERS’ grow old together amid flickering memories and challenging final years. Clinging to their dreams, and to each other, fuelled by endless cups of tea, this gently comedic, profoundly moving portrait of shared artistic folly speaks to the escapist dreamer in us all and to the enduring power of face-to-face time together, in an increasingly lonely, digital age.
